Basics of Chemotherapy:
PICC line insertion:
We use PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters) lines for infusional chemotherapy, for long term intravenous antibiotics, patients with poor venous access. It is a simple device, which can be inserted and removed relatively easily. Needs good care. Major risks are infection, clots, bleeding and blocked lines.
